🎯 Suitable For
- Age: 3 years and up (must be used under adult supervision)
- Best for: children who need plenty of vestibular input and work on balance and coordination; children with ADHD who need intense movement like rolling to regulate; children with global developmental delay, and those practising body awareness and motor planning
- Settings: sensory rooms, OT and physiotherapy clinics, kindergarten activity rooms
📦 Product Description
- A soft sensory barrel for indoor use that trains balance and body coordination.
- Children lie inside and wriggle their bodies to roll it back and forth, developing the vestibular sense through movement.
- An eco-friendly anti-slip, tear-resistant PVC leather cover over a wooden frame with foam. The raised middle and tapered ends help protect children's fingers from being pinched.
✨ Benefits
- Rolling gives rich vestibular input: inside the barrel, the body constantly changes direction and position, giving plenty of vestibular input to build balance and postural control and help regulate arousal.
- Self-propelled rolling builds coordination and motor planning: to move the barrel, children must coordinate the direction and timing of their body movements with the whole body working together, training coordination, core strength, motor planning and proprioception.
- Thoughtful, safe design: soft foam inside and a non-slip, tear-resistant cover outside. The raised middle lifts the ends off the floor as it rolls, reducing the risk of pinched fingers.
🎮 How to Play / Use
- Graded rolling: let the child crawl into the still barrel to get used to it. Then an adult gently and slowly rolls it back and forth from outside. Once confident, the child wriggles to roll it themselves and tries to reach a finish point.
- More ways to play: use it as a tunnel to crawl through, or have the child lie across the top while an adult steadies and gently rocks it, reaching down to pick up bean bags and throw them into a basket to build arm support, balance and hand-eye coordination.
